2025 Plant Exchange
When: Saturday February 22
Where: 5845 SW 97 Street, Pinecrest
Time: 11am – 2pm
Details:
1. Lunch potluck.
Everyone who attends the Plant Exchange and wants to stay for lunch should bring a dish, (a salad, sandwiches, dessert etc). Please make sure to let Sandra know by email or text whether
you plan to attend and what you will bring.
2. Time: Arrival 11am.
Lunch 12. Plant distribution 1pm.
3. Number of plants:
bring as many as you want but please don't bring 15 of one type of plant. Try to bring plants that you love! Be prepared to take home whatever is not picked by our members. I still
have a few stragglers from last year!
4. I need three
committees, one for set-up and checking people in, one for lunch organization and one for cleanup at the end of the event. We will send around signup sheets at the February meeting but
please also let me know what committee you want to be on when you rsvp.
5. Everyone should
identify their plants with their names, the name of the plant, and general growing tips. Plant tags are below.
6. If you can, please
bring a box so that you have something to carry your plants away in. Please write your name on the box so that when you pick a plant you can put it in your box so that no one else will
take it.
7. Please do not take
plants from the tables or ground until the Distribution has started. This is to be fair and respectful for everyone who is attending.
8. We will be keeping
track of how many plants everyone is bringing so that we can be fair in the distribution process.
9. There will be a
Silent Auction table. Bring your special treasures with a form that includes your name, the name of the plant, and your minimum bid. When the Silent Auction is over the winner of the
Auction should go to the owner of the plant and pay them directly. Do not take the plant until this is done. The Silent Auction will be completed after lunch is finished and before the
Distribution phase has started.
Feel free to call or email me with any suggestions for how
we can make the process work better.
